James Joyce

Joyce is part of Breed - a collective of illustrators that showcase each individual on a professional platform. The style of each illustrator is varied, as well as the wide selection of clients each illustrator produces work for.
Joyce's work tends to make a statement, or relative to current affairs including illustrations for finance, society and consumerism. I think that the work that is most relevant to my practice would be his editorial work.

According to the Breed sight he has worked for: Nike, Apple, Levi's, Wallpaper*, Penguin, Victorinox, NB.Studio, Save the Children, Eye and the BBC. James receives frequent press coverage, most recently being featured in Viewpoint magazine and Elephant.

His editorial relates to my interest in finding a way to apply my vector based illustrations into a suitable context. With a contemporary broadsheet like the guardian, known for its culture, arts and media sections heralding in fresh talent be it mediated through copy or image, it only makes sense that I should consider this as an appropriate medium for myself.
His style is similar to my own, as well as my interest in regards of the social theory backed up by my dissertation.
With this in mind, I would say that he is more than appropriate as a viable source for my FMP. Maybe even consider emailing him for a chat?
